Hola!
Welcome to another edition of Mini Rants!
Here’s to the last full week of May!
Every Friday, I rant about the people, things, and experiences that pissed me off during the week and I share with you, my lovely degenerates!
If you like the post, be sure to share it with your amigos!
Without further ado, let’s get to ranting!
Epic Speeches Come from the Heart
Do me a huge favor: never speak from the heart about people around graduation/commencement season, especially if you’re pouring your soul out. You’ll end up having to write speeches for the speakers at the last minute.
Despite being incredibly silly and cathartic in my writing (this newsletter has been a canvas of my emotional word vomit many times), my coworkers saw something wonderful and vulnerable in my words. They entrusted me to write something profound about the students who were graduating from our school.
As I finished the last letter and I read them over, there was a shit ton of scribbling and misspelled words that made the messages difficult to understand. It doesn’t help that my letters resemble a 3rd grader’s handwritten Valentine’s Day card to their folks.
Having destroyed the work in front of me, I handed it over to my co-worker, expecting him to hand me a second filling of criticisms. I wouldn’t have been upset if he confirmed my inability to produce a simple speech for his students… instead, I received positive remarks for the words on paper.
Maybe the ranting these last few months helped me channel my focus. Since I wasn’t writing about my foolish experiences, I chose to be gentle with the words. I didn’t have to use the written word to tear something down but highlight the remarkable qualities of someone else.
Maybe my writing skills aren’t too shabby
.I felt I created something worthwhile for the first time. It was nothing short of awesome. I’d write speeches all day if it meant I’d never had to speak in front of a tough crowd ever again.
Nonetheless, I hope that you’re never asked to write speeches at the last minute.
You’ll get all mushy and feel all soft.
This is another reminder that negative self-talk is damaging and unnecessary. Self-criticism is harder to get over than a stranger’s remarks. Your work, art, or performance might astound others, even if you’re sure that it was a grand flop.
Stop shitting on your work.
Play Dumb Games, Win Even Dumber Prizes.
Four incredibly goofy bozos are off the streets of Philadelphia, PA (thankfully) because they ratted themselves out on YouTube for committing a massive shooting spree that’s claimed 2 lives.
If you think shooting sprees is the fastest way to achieve infamy, then consider yourself smooth-brained and a public enemy. You would be a festering wound that must be cleaned up immediately.
I could continue to throw insults at these gun-wielding cowards, but they insulted themselves for being so dumb and young.
The youngest of these idiots was 18 years old!I don’t want to give these numbskulls any more attention, but what could have driven them to commit violence on such a massive scale? Was it to bolster their reputation? Sheer boredom? It certainly wasn’t a good enough reason since they’re facing a series of charges including murder, attempted murder, and firearm charges. At least they get their 5 seconds of notoriety, just like they wanted.
People, please understand that committing crimes makes you a horrible individual. Committing those crimes and then puffing your chest online about how dangerous you are by describing said crimes makes you a real piece of work.
May the victims and their families receive the justice they deserve.
Here's the article on these guys and their capture.
That’ll wrap up today’s Mini Rants.
Thanks for reading.
Please be safe, create something without judgment, and stay vigilant.
Until next time, amigos.
Adios!

I’ll bet 5 bucks that the firearms in their possession were unregistered or stolen. At the very least, they probably were prohibited from possessing firearms.
